ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - US President Donald Trump told Rudaw on Saturday that he is weighing a decision on Iran, warning Tehran that it faces an “easy way or the hard way.”
"We have [a] decision that I will make about Iran. Iran has been decimated. So the only question is it'll either be the easy way or the hard way. We will have the easy way or the hard way," Trump told Rudaw at the White House.
Trump did not elaborate on the decision he was considering or specify what he meant by the “easy way or the hard way.”
His comments come amid heightened tensions between Washington and Tehran following months of conflict that have severely strained Iran and raised uncertainty over the next phase of US policy toward the country.
Trump has repeatedly sought to pressure Tehran over its nuclear program and regional activities, while leaving open the possibility of further action if Iran does not meet US demands.
The latest remarks suggest the US president has yet to make a final decision on his next steps toward Tehran.
