ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - A man and his child were killed after a “hand grenade” exploded outside a courthouse in the Kurdish-majority Hasaka province in northeast Syria (Rojava) on Friday, Damascus state media reported.
"A man and his child were killed on Friday following an explosion outside the Palace of Justice in the city of Hasaka," the state-run Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported.
Citing a "security source," SANA said the explosion occurred "at around 9:30 am [local time] and was caused by a hand grenade.”
Hasaka's health director, Khalid al-Khalid, said the casualties were "a man in his thirties and a 13-year-old child" who died of wounds sustained in the blast, adding that neither victim had been identified as “they carried no identification documents.”
