Magnitude 3.2 earthquake hits Sulaimani province

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - A 3.2 magnitude earthquake was felt in Sulaimani province Friday afternoon, a local official said. The tremor caused panic among people. 

“The earthquake occurred at 2:39 pm,” according to Aso Kamal, head of the province's metrology and seismic department, adding that its magnitude was 3.2 magnitude at a depth of 12 kilometres. 

The epicenter was Poshin village near Sulaimani city, he said.

The quake sent some people running out of their homes, according to a Rudaw reporter. 

There are no reports of injuries or damage.
