ERBIL, Kurdistan Region—Facebook has officially invited Rudaw Media Network to attend a media day for its media partners on Facebook’s new social media services.
“The media day is a good opportunity for Rudaw to have closer relations with Facebook and develop our partnership with them,” said Hemin Lihony, head of Rudaw’s portal, adding that, as a trusted media partner, “Facebook from now on will inform and invite us to their events and conferences.”
Nick Wrenn, head of news partnerships at Facebook, described the event as "a chance to meet some of the Facebook team that works with media partners across EMEA."
It will also be an opportunity to learn about Facebook products useful to Rudaw.
During the media day, Facebook will make recommendations to their media partners on how to benefit from the new changes and services of social media.
The popular social media network recently announced the establishment of media partnerships with trusted world media agencies, including Rudaw Media Network.
The media partnership signed between Rudaw and Facebook offers special services to Rudaw’s portal, such as online polls, verification of Rudaw pages, protection from hacking for the accounts of Rudaw employees, and prevention of misuse of Rudaw products.
The media day is due to take place at end of this week in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
As of mid-2016, Facebook has 1.71 billion active monthly users.
