This weekend has seen heavy snowfall in parts of Kurdistan especially the mountainous areas along the border with Iran.

The pictures above are of Haji Homaran border town.

On the other side of the border in Rojhalat (Iranian Kurdistan) the snow has fallen heavier, particularly near the town of Mariwan.

Elsewhere, like the capital Erbil for example, it hasn't snowed, but there is wind chill preceded by two days of rain.
