KIRKUK, Kurdistan Region -Two IDPs died and one is in critical condition after being hit by an improvised explosive device (IED) in southwest Kirkuk.
A mother and son were killed on Saturday in Hawija after being hit by a bomb that was reportedly planted by ISIS.
An infant being carried by a Peshmerga soldier is believed to be the second survivor from the family.
His father is in critical condition, the Peshmerga says.
The bodies of his mother and brother have been left where the bombing happened. No one can go back for them as they say, “It is too risky to go to there”.
Last week, 6 IDPs were wounded by IEDs while escaping Hawija, Rudaw’s Halkawt Aziz reported from an IDP reception center in southern Kirkuk.
An ISIS bomb killed an internally displaced Iraqi infant last Saturday in the Daquq district south of Kirkuk, officials announced after the incident.
Hawija, district 48 km southwest of Kirkuk, is still under control of ISIS.
