ERBIL, Kurdistan Region — Almost a year and a half ago, five Kakai villages in the Nineveh plains fell to ISIS. The people of these villages fled to the Kurdistan region and they hope their areas will be liberated from ISIS soon by a battalion established for them by the Peshmerga ministry.

Although they have a Kakai battalion of only 120 fighters, some from the religious minority now want the Kurdistan Regional Government to establish a regiment as well. More can be found on the Kakai in the above video.
