ERBIL,Kurdistan Region- A Yezidi Kurdish member of the Iraqi parliament told Rudaw on Monday that thousands of Yezidi who crossed Turkey into Bulgaria are now homeless and suffering harsh conditions.

“More than 6,000 Yezidis departed from Turkey to Bulgaria due to the challenges they faced in camps in Turkey. The Yezidis have been sleeping on the street for three days and have refused to return to Turkey,” said Mahama Khalil, a Kurdish Yezidi parliamentarian in Baghdad.

Khalil claimed the Bulgarian government has yet offer any assistance to the refugees.

"In addition to that, no international media or European organizations have commented about this issue,” said Khalil.

“Through the Rudaw Media Network we deliver our concerns and ask the Kurdistan [Regional Government] and the Iraqi federal government to solve this problem,” he added.

He added that the Yezidis on the streets had been enduring three days of hot weather.
