ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - The armed wing of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) released its death toll from the recent  clashes with Turkish government forces, claiming they killed 417 Turkish soldiers and police officers and lost 42 fighters in skirmishes and air raids.

The PKK’s People's Defence Forces, also known as HPG, said in a statement released Friday that, since the outbreak of the July 24 clashes, the Turkish government launched 62 offensives against the group and in return HPG launched 191 offensives inside the country.

Turkish officials released different numbers for casualties. Ankara claimed Turkish security forces had killed 814 PKK fighters, mainly in air attacks in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Turkey also confirmed that 60 soldiers and police officers were killed by the PKK.

The Turkish government reignited a war with the PKK after the rebels claimed responsibility for the deaths of two army officers in late July. The fighting has ended a 2013 ceasefire that was meant to resolve a three-decade conflict in which some 40,000 people have been killed.

I would like to see rudaw use the word CLAIM for Turkish military reports. But I have lost faith in this. It is also jarring, and that is understating it, how much faith I have lost in some people in Kurdistan, they have been getting their way since the founding of KRG and they still wont play by the rules. They have had a leader that has been in charge 2 years over his term limit, and they still want more. It depresses me to say, I don't want to be part of a country with these people, I don't trust them.

Value your soldiers lives more than a number. eaCh one of them had a mother, brothers, sisters, friends, loved ones.I always supported kutds but you wil not beat Turkey You wil not impose on them. you guys are only a means to get to ISIS to the world, and they couldn't care less about Kurda agenda. Retrieve n focua on real Kurdistan, beause that target is something poasible unlike Turkey. its a war ypu guys will never ever win without international support and Tuekey is part of Nato. so you tell me who will they aide with? its game over woth Turkey guys please stop dying

The killing of the Kurds who were once backbone of the Ottoman empire & new Turkish republic is very sad, stupid and wrong, which savage minded people do. Look at the Czechoslovakia, they separated from each others without shooting single shot and now they live next to each others as a two nation & good neighbour. This shows you how barbaric, fascist and savage minded Turkish state is, Turks are always claim & proud to be descendents of the Attila the Hun, Genghis Khan, Tamerlane and Hulagu Khan, who bragged that he killed 2 millions of the Baghdadi's at his Middle East expedition, when he met king of the France, I guess savages always will be savages, there is no cure for them.

Rudaw, PKK never "claimed the responsibility for deaths of the of two army officers in late July". Why you broadcast false information? We people of the world do not expect you to take sides. We need independent media. Why Rudaw acts as Turkish AK party propaganda tribune?

The Iraqi government does not have the credibility to command the Peshmerga forces who have demonstrated good performance and cohesiveness.
