Yildirim announces Turkey's new defense, justice ministers after meeting with Erdogan

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region — Turkey's government has reshuffled its cabinet, after President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with Prime Minister Binali Yildirim on Wednesday in Ankara.

"A cabinet reshuffle has been on the agenda since Erdoğan had regained his seat as chairman of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) after the April 16 referendum, with three or five ministers expected be reshuffled," the Turkish Hurriyet Daily News wrote about the "expected" reshuffle.

After the "unscheduled" meeting, Yildirim made a statement.
 
Yildirim said that five ministers would be replaced, notably the Ministers of Defence and Justice — both of whom were appointed deputy prime ministers.
