ERBIL, Kurdistan Region—Two nearly simultaneous explosions have hit Turkey’s southeast Wednesday evening. A huge blast apparently targeted a police vehicle in front of a hospital in the Kiziltepe district of Mardin, near the Syrian border. Initial reports indicate at least two people have been killed and as many as 50 were injured. Turkish media is reporting that the attack was carried out by the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK). Daily Sabah reported that ambulances have been dispatched to the scene and security forces are searching for suspects. A car bomb in the historic Sur district of Diyarbakir exploded shortly after the blast in Mardin, killing four civilians and wounding four police officers, Dogan News Agency has reported. There has been no claim of responsibility.
