ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – Israeli warplanes bombed alleged Hezbollah targets in Lebanon and a Syrian military outpost outside Damascus early Wednesday, regional media reports said.

The warplanes crossed into Lebanese airspace for the airstrikes on Hezbollah and social media users reported hearing fighter planes in the air not long aftermidnight on Tuesday night.

The targets reportedly were a Hezbollah convoy and a weapons depot in Syria, according to the Saudi-owned Al-Youm newspaper.

Reports of the new attacks come two days after Israel confirmed an attack on ISIS-held targets in Syria’s southern Golan in retaliation for an attack on Sunday on Israeli soldiers near the Syrian border.

Meanwhile, the Times of Israel noted that this is not the first such attack by the Israeli Air Force on a Hezbollah Convoy. The Jewish state has warned it will prevent Hezbollah from acquiring modern arms such as anti-aircraft systems or chemical weapons.
