ISIS once claimed Raqqa as the capital of its so-called caliphate.
In October, the SDF, a local coalition including Kurdish YPG, Arab, Assyrian/Syriac/Armenian Christian and other militias liberated the devastated city.
Most Raqqawis remain displaced, but the Syriac Military Council and other SDF elements prepared a Christmas celebration at the heavily damaged Armenian Catholic Church of the Martyrs in eastern Raqqa.
Others dressed as Santa Claus and handed toys to children along the cratered streets.
