AFRIN, Syria - A rocket attack on a checkpoint guarded by the People’s Protection Units (YPG) in the Afrin Canton in Syria left seven dead and 17 others wounded, sources told Rudaw.
Three YPG fighters were among the dead in the attack on the village of Qatma in the Afrin Canton of Syrian Kurdistan, or Rojava.
It was not immediately clear who had fired the rocket, which left a crater seven-meters deep.
The YPG has been the main fighting force in Syria that has kept the Islamic State (ISIS) from advancing its military campaign into Rojava.
