The Salih Necar family in the city of Amuda in Rojava dismissed claims made by the Turkish government that their family has carried out the Ankara bombing on Thursday which left at least 28 dead and 61 wounded.
Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu named the Ankara bomber as Salih Necar, a Syrian national and member of the Syrian Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG).
"A direct link between the attack and the YPG has been established," he claimed, adding that PKK militants inside Turkey provided the YPG logistical support.
Rudaw visited Amuda to talk to the family of Necar, and members of the family talked to Rudaw about the Turkish Prime Minister's claims.
According to information obtained by Rudaw, there is only one Necar family there, and members of that family say none of the family's youth is named Salih, the Salih Necar in their family is 50 years old.
Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced on Thursday that 14 people suspected of playing a role in the bombing in Ankara on Wednesday which killed 28 and wounded 61 have been detained.
"Although the PKK [Kurdistan Workers Party] and the PYD [Syrian Democratic Union Party] are denying it, the information from the Interior Ministry and intelligence show that they are behind [the bombing]," Erdogan claimed according to Hurriyet news.
