Leading figures of the Manbij Military Council in the Aleppo countryside of northern Syria confirmed that the news about the death of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of the Islamic State, is negatively affecting the morale of ISIS fighters, especially after the recent shocks they have suffered at the hands of the Council's forces.

Adnan Abu Amjad, General Commander of the Manbij Military Council forces, stated that if the news is true then it is a victory for all forces fighting for peace against terrorism.

Shurfan Darweesh, official spokesperson of Manbij Military Council forces, confirmed that al-Baghdadi's death will increase pressure on ISIS fighters.

These statements came after some media outlets close to ISIS published news of the death of al-Baghdadi in an airstrike carried out by the global coalition on al-Raqqa countryside east of Aleppo.
