ERBIL, Kurdistan Region — An explosion shook in the southern part of Aleppo governorate in Syria on Sunday afternoon“where Iranian forces were present” along with the Afghani-Shiite Fatemiyoun Brigade , reported a conflict monitor.
The Observatory reported no immediate information regarding human and material losses.
Turkish media reported the death of at least 20 people.
The explosion shook an Iranian training camp in southern Aleppo, reported CNN Turk, adding that ambulances and rescue crews are arriving to the area. Additionally, planes were spotted in the explosion area, but their identity is unknown.
Sky News Arabic and Al Arabiya TV also reported the explosion.
Pro-Assad media denied the explosion or claims that it was carried out by the Israel Air Force.
The War Media Center, a pro-Hizbollah outlet that covers the Syrian war, refuted the news on its Telegram account.
It wrote there is no truth as to what is published on some websites and social media or reported on the media of the "Zionist enemy" and armed militants associated with it.
The pro-Hizbollah outlet claimed these rumors are an attempt to raise the morale of "terrorists" after the disappointment they suffered from failure of the tripartite aggression against Syria, referring to American, French, and British airstrikes in the country on Friday morning.
Neither the Syrian government nor the Israeli government immediately commented on the explosion.
The United States, United Kingdom and France targeted three regime positions in Syria early Saturday morning in response to alleged chemical attacks carried out by the regime against the city of Douma, killing nearly 50 civilians.
