ERBIL, Kurdistan Region—The Turkish army bombarded Afrin in Rojava, northern Syria, killing six Kurdish Peoples Protection Units (YPG) fighters and injuring eight civilians.

The Turkish army attacked Sorka village in the Rajo sub-district in Afrin with heavy weapons. Their target was a YPG outpost. Six were killed and eight civilians and Rojava Asayesh (security forces) were injured, the YPG stated.

The media close to the YPG reported that during the Turkish attack on Afrin, Turkish drones were flying over the area. When civilians tried to reach injured YPG fighters and help them, the Turkish army opened fire on the civilians, injuring several.
