ERBIL, Kurdistan Region—The Islamic State (ISIS) leadership executed eight of its militants of Dutch nationality in northern Syria on Friday on charges of desertion.

Abu Mohammed, a member of the citizen journalist group Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently (RBSS), said on Twitter “Isis executed 8 Dutch fighters on Friday, 26 of Feb, after fights with Iraqi leaders in Raqqa and they arrested more Dutch fighters,”

The activist group said that the killings happened after a dispute between the Dutch jihadis and ISIS intelligence men from Iraq.
The jihadis were executed in the Syrian city of Midan, one of ISIS’s strongholds in Syria.

“Three other Dutch jihadis were arrested by Iraqi Isis members, who accused them of wanting to flee,” RBSS reported.

According to the report one of the jihadis was beaten to death during the interrogation.

The ISIS leadership intervened to solve the dispute by sending a delegate to investigate, but it is said that the angry Dutch militants killed the delegate.

“The Isis leadership in Iraq then ordered the arrest of all of the Dutch group's members, imprisoning them in Tabaqa and Maadan in Syria,”

The detainees numbered 75 and the eight executed were among them.

Also on Monday Saeed Mamuzni, a Kurdish official in charge of Mosul affairs told Rudaw that “ISIS executed 24 persons charged with refusing to fight for the group on the battlefields,”

Ahmed Abdulsalam al-Obeidi, the Isis finance minister in Mosul, was among the executed and was charged with treachery, he said.
