MOSUL, Iraq – Four people have been killed and a number of others injured in two ISIS mortar attacks on a busy market in eastern Mosul which was liberated in mid January.
A local resident told Rudaw that dozens of people were injured, and five shops burnt as a result in the Nabi Younis market in the center of eastern Mosul.
Rudaw’s Sidad Lashkri who has covered the Mosul offensive since October reported from Western Mosul that the market showed signs of life getting back to normal with many people opening their businesses.
Iraq’s Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi declared the eastern half of Mosul liberated on January 24, after a 100-day long campaign.
