ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – The headquarters of the Turkmen Front party in west Kirkuk were hit by a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) on Monday, a party member stated.
Guards at the headquarters in Kirkuk’s Musala neighbourhood entered into a firefight with the attackers, Aydin Maruf stated.
An investigation has been launched by Iraqi counter-terror forces, he added.
Details about casualties are not immediately available.
A wave of violence has recently swept the disputed city that came under Iraqi control last October.

Let the people be assured that there is no threat and what exists is only propaganda,” spokesperson for Kirkuk police, Afrasiaw Kamil Waisi, told Rudaw.
Hamasur Doshwani, member of PUK’s central council in Kirkuk, had claimed to Rudaw that “ISIS has controlled 40 percent of the governorate, but Iraqi forces do not acknowledge this truth.”
