Muhammad Izzadin ERBIL - Frank Baker, the British ambassador to Iraq, told Rudaw on Thursday that Britain stands ready to help to “remove” the evil that is ISIS. “As Iraqi Prime Minister His Excellency Haidar al-Abadi has made clear, this is an operation that will be carried out on the ground by Iraqi forces,” he said. “We also stand ready to to give any assistance it requires and to give any assistance it requests to fight this evil.” He was speaking ahead of a recall of the British parliament on Friday by David Cameron, British prime minister, to discuss plans for air strikes against ISIS. Cameron has said the British military is ready to “play its part” against ISIS. The US says more than 40 countries have offered to join the anti-ISIS coalition. The US has launched nearly 200 air strikes against the militants in Iraq since August and expanded the operation against IS to Syria on Monday.
