Rudaw reporters in Mosul have seen firsthand the plight of civilians who have lost loved ones in the ongoing fight against ISIS militants.

One young man named Ayman was shot by an ISIS sniper, his father told Rudaw. His body had to be taken to the graveyard in a bulletproof vehicle given the dangers posed by snipers.

Another man out searching for goods was shot in the legs.

Rudaw also saw the distressing sight of a father carrying the body of his young boy in complete shock.
