After capturing Tal Afar airport near the Syrian border, the state-backed Shiite Hashd al-Shaabi forces say there are rapidly moving to Tal Afar itself to wrest control of the town from ISIS.
Peshmerga commanders report that, as the paramilitary Hashd force closes in on the town, ISIS militants are seen escaping to Raqqa in Syria via corridors that were used as supply lines in the past.
But the Yezidi community fears that, as the militants escape, they are also taking kidnapped girls and women with them.
