Iraqi forces branch out in Fallujah through bombs and under fire

Iraqi forces are advancing from southern Fallujah to the north. Sometimes in intense street battles.

 

Though ISIS militants appear to have weakened they keep up their resistance.

 

This is the ISIS flag that militants left it behind in one of the districts.

 

An ISIS sniper is watching the flag from a distance and doesn’t let Iraqi forces bring it down.

 

Some Kurdish soldiers are also taking part in the battle.

 

They say their fight against ISIS is not just for Kurdistan, but to remove the group from all of Iraq.

 

This is the dead body of an ISIS militant that was left behind.

 

Iraqi soldiers say that most of the ISIS gunmen are foreigners. 

 

Iraqi Shiite soldiers say that they are committed to fulfilling the Fatwa of their Imam’s Fatwas.

 

Fallujah is known as the city of mosques. There are more than 500 mosques here. The population of the city is completely Sunni Islam.

 

ISIS militants have planted bombs and mines inside some of the mosques, they are using other mosques as base to fight Iraqi army.
