ERBIL, Kurdistan Region—Protesters have broken down the gates of the Cabinet of Ministers and entered the cabinet, according to Rudaw’s reporter on the scene. 

AFP is also reporting that protesters have entered the Prime Minister’s office.

According to Rudaw’s correspondent, three protesters have been killed and 25 more wounded after security forces opened fire.

Journalists were also attacked by security forces and a reporter for Al-Ahad TV was killed. Three other journalists were also wounded.

Baghdad’s Governor has asked Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi to "stop killing people."


A state of emergency has been declared in the city after thousands of Moqtada al-Sadr supporters demonstrated in Tahrir Square and protesters have once again breached the fortified Green Zone.
