ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - Two people diagnosed with swine flu have died this week in the town of Dujail in Salahadin province and two others are suffering the symptoms.
Amir Khazraji, head of the Dujail local council, told Rudaw that a 25-year-old died of “swine flu” in the town on Friday and earlier this week another person died in the town of Balad.
According to Khazraji, two others have been diagnosed with the disease.
Khazraji added they had taken necessary measures to prevent any further spread of the deadly disease.
The Iraqi Agriculture Ministry announced on January 7 they had also discovered a case of bird flu at a poultry house in Diyala province.
