ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – At least 20 fighters of the Sunni tribal Hashd al-Ashayeri militia, which is allied to the Iraqi Army, were killed in northern Iraq Wednesday, apparently by US-led coalition warplanes, a tribal source said.

The attack took place on the militia’s military base in the village of Kharaeb Jabir, east of the town of Qayyara, which was liberated from the Islamic State (ISIS) group last month by Iraqi forces, said the source, speaking on condition of anonymity.

There was no immediate confirmation or comment by the Iraqi government or Coalition forces.
