Hungry, injured, ill civilians are fleeing Old Mosul.

One 14-year old boy cradles the head of his father, who is near death. Another boy hid out in a basement, injured, for 20 days. He is almost a skeleton. A small girl wears a card with her name and her father’s phone number – so she can be identified if separated from her family, or killed.

The elderly are exhausted. Their children are waiting for a miracle to get them out of this hell.

There are thousands still trapped under ISIS rule in the remaining pocket they control in Old Mosul.

According to the Iraqi Migration Ministry, some 900,000 people have been displaced from the city.
