Islamic State (ISIS) rocket fires hit Turkey's southeastern town of Kilis on Monday killing four Syrian refugees, three of whom were children.
"Four rockets fired from Syrian territory exploded in different parts of the city of Kilis between 11:30 to 1:30pm GMT. Four Syrians living in Kilis, including three children were killed," read a statement from the regions governors office.
A resident of Kilis and another five Syrians were also wounded in the attack the statement added.
ISIS has shelled that town numerous times since the start of the year using Katyusha rocket projectiles.
Turkey always responds using artillery fire directed against positions over the border in Syria from where the rocket fire emanates.
Monday's attack was responsible for the single largest number of casualties in a single day to date. One person died and 19 were wounded when Kilis was rocketed last week.
Last month two civilians, one of them a child, were also killed in another ISIS rocket attack.
