Thousands of supporters of the al-Houthi rebel group demonstrated in Yemen on Monday in protest of the continuing war and humanitarian crisis in the country.
The protest came during a visit by the United Nations envoy to Yemen for talks with the Houthis and other leaders in a bid to forge a truce in the war-ravaged country.
The demonstration condemned the position of the UN towards the Yemenis and blamed the envoy for not doing enough to stop the war and lift the siege imposed by the Arab coalition.
"We condemn the international weakness. The United Nations has failed to achieve anything except for what was reached in Geneva. Beyond that it has done nothing to make Saudi Arabia stop the bombing," said Ibrahim al-Obeidi, a Houthi commander in the Ansar Allah militia.
