Barzani discusses Mosul operation in visit to UAE

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – Kurdish President Masoud Barzani met with crown prince of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in Abu Dhabi on Sunday where they discussed the ongoing Mosul operation, the situation of displaced people in Iraq, and mutual relations, a statement from the Kurdish presidency said.
 
Al Nahyan, who is also the deputy commander of the UAE armed forces, congratulated the Kurdish president for the advances made by the Peshmerga and Iraqi forces in their fight against terrorism, according to the statement.
 
“President Barzani talked about the Mosul operation, and the phases of the military plan, the humanitarian situation and the refugees,” it said.
 
Al Nahyan thanked the Kurdistan Region for hosting hundreds of thousands of refugees and Barzani, in turn, thanked the UAE for sending humanitarian aid to the displaced people in the Region.
 

Barzani also met with the UAE’s Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
