Peshmerga discovered an ISIS tunnel after recapturing Kurbasad village from the militants.

As the Peshmerga said, ISIS used the tunnel to hide from airstrikes and to fight the Kurdish forces.

A Rudaw reporter inside the tunnel said that ISIS based their snipers in the strategic tunnel.

The militants also wired the tunnel to light it up.

A Peshmerga soldier said the tunnel stretched many meters out from a house in the village.

There were beds and long narrow air holes deep inside the tunnel to ventilate the tunnel.

The Peshmerga believe there will be many other similar tunnel built by the militants.

As of now, bomb disposal teams have not discovered or cleared them all.
