ERBIL Kurdistan Region - Since last month, military experts from coalition forces have been training some 600 Peshmerga in its first-ever training in urban warfare.

Now, in addition to the their experience in the ISIS war, the Peshmerga have experience in the street-and-alley fighting with the latest techniques and military intelligence.

The training included the tactics and battle strategy as well as how to defend positions and deal with medical  emergencies.

"I dare say 100 percent the Peshmerga have benefited from the training over the past four weeks. It is the first time a regiment from the Peshmerga ministry has been involved in a training course directly supervised by the coalition forces," a Peshmerga official told Rudaw.
