ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – A Peshmerga soldier was killed by an ISIS sniper on the Daquq frontline south of Kirkuk on Tuesday, a Kurdish commander told Rudaw.

“The Peshmerga’s name is Awara Ahmed and he was from the town of Raniya,” said Mohammed Haji Qadir, the Peshmerga commander in charge of the Daquq front.

He said Ahmed, from the Peshmerga’s Balak 118 Brigade, was targeted by the sniper at a Peshmerga outpost in the village of Attishana.
