ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – Dead and wounded are arriving in Mosul hospitals from a new wave of coalition airstrikes that struck key positions in the ISIS-held city.
A medical source in Mosul estimated so far more than 33 militants have been killed or wounded on Sunday, with ISIS now scrambling to move more of their wounded to local hospitals.
The source said the US-led coalition airstrikes targeted strategic ISIS positions and arsenals inside Mosul, including the centrally located Mosul governorate that was converted into an arms depository by the militants.
“Due to the bombardment, some 20 militants were killed and 13 wounded have been transferred to Ibn-Sina hospital in Mosul,” said the source.
