The Civil Development Organization protested on Sunday a proposed amendment of an Iraqi law that allows girls as young as 9 to get married.
Some human rights and women advocacy organizations in Kurdistan participated in the gathering in Sulaimani too.
The organizers of the event submitted a letter to the presidencies of Iraq demanding that the law not be amended, saying it would be sectarian in nature and against human rights.
