ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani has said he is prepared to "visit Baghdad every day” in order to collect monthly salaries owed to Kurdish citizens by the central government.
“Our main problem with the central government is they want to make problems for us,” the premier told Rudaw media network.
Barzani also said Baghdad should not use a daily calculation of Kurdish oil exports, suggesting the government "calculate exported oil once in every three months.”
He added: “In order to solve the budget issues and provide people’s daily bread, which is purchased with their salaries, I am ready to visit Baghdad every day.”
An official KRG delegation is believed to be scheduled to visit Baghdad on Sunday.
