The Kurdish-American cooperation organisation set free two bears in the Gara Mountain in Duhok province earlier this week, the second-high profile bear rescue by the organization in less than a year.
The organization set free six brown bears last April.
The event however went viral when the bears attacked people attending to witness the wild animals.
Suheib Abdullah, a photographer, received multiple injuries when he tried to save himself.
Bilind Brifkani, from the animal organization, told Rudaw that they continue with their rescue operations in order to protect Kurdistan’s wildlife.
