NORTHERN MOSUL – At least 154 bodies of dead Islamic State (ISIS) militants are left in Peshmerga territories after two days of heavy fighting in and around the Christian town of Tel Skof north of Mosul, Kurdish sources told Rudaw.
Rudaw correspondent in the area, Ayub Nasri, says that the Peshmerga forces are now in full control of the area after they successfully repelled a major ISIS attack.
The radical militants renewed their attack on the town on Wednesday where one Peshmerga soldier was killed.
The Kurdish forces reported that they managed to break up an ISIS cell of at least a dozen militants who had taken shelter inside the town.
According to latest updates from the Peshmerga at least 154 militants were killed, 34 of whom were foreign nationals.
ISIS launched a multi-pronged attack on the Peshmerga on Tuesday which was repelled to the loss of 10 Peshmerga and US Navy SEAL commando Charles Keating.
