ERBIL, Kurdisatan Region - Peshmerga forces repulsed a fierce ISIS assault in the sub-district of Talisqof, nearly 10km northeast Mosul, a source with the Kurdish forces said on Thursday.

“We defeated the ISIS attack, and they left several dead bodies behind,” said the source on the Talisqof front.

Another source told Rudaw that ISIS militants attacked the Peshmerga frontlines in the village of Qopan in Bashik, southeast Mosul, but were defeated.

“ISIS attacked our frontlines this morning in the village of Qopan, we manged to defeat them without casualties,” said a Peshmera official in the Balak force from the Peshmerga ministry.

Last night, ISIS militants also launched a multi-pronged assault on the Mekhmour front, southeast of Mosul.

“ISIS launched an overnight attack on the Peshmerga frontlines in the villages of Jarulla and Gobaia on the Mekhmour front, but none of the attacks were successful,” Brigadier General Mahdi Younis told Rudaw.

“ISIS suffered heavy casualties from the attacks, and fortunately, we do not have any casualties,” said Younis.

Aras Haso Mirkhan, deputy commander of the Mekhmour-Gwer front, told Rudaw: “ISIS has changed its attack patterns from trying to capture areas to now trying to inflict damage on the Peshmerga. But they did not capture an inch.”
