ERBIL, Kurdistan Region—Iraq’s central government and the Kurdistan Region have reached an agreement on the issues of oil and budget following three days of talks in Baghdad, a Kurdish official said.
Rudaw has learned that based on the new agreement the federal government will send Kurdistan Region’s 17 percent share of the national budget and in return receive 550,000 barrels of oil.
It is reported that 250,000 barrels will be from Kurdish oilfields and 300,000 barrels from Kirkuk.
Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani and a high level Kurdish delegation held four rounds of talks in Baghdad with their Iraqi counterparts, including PM Haider al-Abadi and oil minister Adel Abd al-Mahdi, leading to today’s final agreement.
