Kurdish Peshmerga forces say they choose death in order to live and thus, will not allow Iraqi army to make any further advance into territories held by the Kurdistan Region.

Jamal Iminiki speaking to his men nearby Zummar where Hashd al-Shaabi militants are stationed from a distance, says Iraq’s intention is to invade Kurdistan.

Babakir Zebari, a veteran Peshmerga commander and former chief of staff of the Iraqi army says Kurds have dropped some of their calls in order to reach an agreement with Baghdad, yet Iraq chooses to fight.

Iraq’s main aim is to reach Fish Khabur, but Zebari explained that according to the Iraqi constitution, the Iraqi border guards cannot get as close as 15 kilometers from the borders which fall under undisputed territories between Erbil and Baghdad.
