KHURMATU, Kurdistan Region - Two people were killed and four other wounded in a suicide attack on a Shiite mosque (Hussainyeh) in Khurmatu’s district of Imam Ahmad late on Friday, a Rudaw correspondent reported.
According to the Rudaw correspondent the Shiite militia known as Hash al-Shaabi tried to arrest the suicide bomber but were unable to do so before he detonated his explosives.

Karim Shokr, head of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) office in Khurmatu, said that the explosion occurred near a base belonging to the Shiite militias. The Kurdish neighbourhoods in the town are calm, Shokr reported.
