ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – Islamic States militants launched two attacks on Peshmerga forces at the Mahkmour front early on Sunday.
“Islamic militants attacked our forces around 4 am today in the Sultan Abdulla area. The fight continued for about half an hour. The second attack happened around 5 am, and our forces retook control of the area,” Muslih Bradosti, the Peshmerga commander at Mahkmour, told Rudaw.
A numbers of ISIS fighter were reportedly killed and wounded. Meanwhile, at least 15 others are believed to be hiding in mosques and houses in the area with no way to escape.
