At the UN, US and Russia fail to agree on Syria

Syria and the war with ISIS dominated speeches and discussions on the opening day of the United Nations General Assembly meeting on Monday, with US President Barack Obama and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin failing to agree on a position toward Syria's President Bashar Assad. In his speech, Obama upheld the US position that Assad must go, with Putin blaming the war on Washington and insisting that any solution must include the embattled Syrian leader.
