LVIV, Ukraine - Ukrainians are upset with their Western allies for their failure to stop Russian invasion of parts of the country. Many have fled to the neighbouring Poland.

A Rudaw team visited Lviv, Ukraine’s seven-largest city, on Friday, speaking with residents who were shocked to see that Russia continues attacking their country and Ukraine's Western allies fail to stop it.

There are constant sirens in the city, making people look for a place to hide.

Kathrina Yegor is 28 years old. She sends a message to NATO members with tears coming down from her eyes.

“We will remember the reaction of NATO and Europe and the United States. If you do not help us, we will remember,” she told Rudaw's Alla Shally.

Hundreds of people have fled to this city: some later go to Poland while others choose to remain here. They do not know what will happen next.

Vladyslav Andriy and his wife are two elderly residents of Lviv. They told Rudaw that the situation is complicated and they do not fight for themselves but the West too.

"I feel somewhat bewildered … We are defending now all the West. And they do not want to help us do not want," Andriy said angrily.

His wife, Henalena Andriy, said “the situation is complicated. I am waiting for the prime minister of my government to explain to us what is happening. Why this war?”

Jora, another resident of Lviv. He told Rudaw that he was very upset.

“I am very upset. I am ready to leave behind my wife and children and join the army if my country needs me to defend it on the frontlines,” he said.
