Kurdish student in Germany hopes to bring light to refugee tents

Moaid Othman is a Kurdish student who has been studying electronic engineering at Bielefeld University in Germany for five years.

For his bachelor’s project, he developed a mobile solar panel designed to be mobile so refugees can use it.

His project which is named Hujam, he says, is user-friendly and accessible to all once it reaches the refugee households.

The ease of producing this device has made the university think about expanding the project, and making more for the market.
