PM Barzani arrives in Bahrain
ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Monday arrived in Bahrain to discuss regional security.
“I'm visiting Bahrain today for talks on regional security and cooperation. We need continued dialogue to navigate through the uncertainty,” Barzani said in a post on X.
The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) said in a statement that during the two-day trip Barzani will focus on Kurdistan Region’s relations with Bahrain and the latest developments in the Middle East.
Upon his arrival, Barzani met with Noor Alkhulaif, Minister of Sustainable Development of Bahrain and CEO of the Economic Development Board.
Both sides touched on “economic diversification and investment. We discussed partnerships that create jobs and attract investment in the region,” the Kurdish prime minister said in a separate post on X.
The latest developments in Syria will also be on Barzani’s agenda.
Syria’s civil war dramatically reignited late last month when a coalition of rebels led by the Islamist Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) launched a blistering offensive against the Syrian army. They ousted Bashar al-Assad on Sunday.
