Rudaw’s Book of the Year: The Miracle of the Kurds
Washington D.C. – Inside America, a weekly political program on Rudaw TV, has chosen Stephen Mansfield’s “The Miracle of the Kurds,” as its book of the year.
The best-selling author has painted an honest and largely friendly picture of the Kurdish people, who have long been oppressed in the Middle East and remained unknown in the West.
Mr. Mansfield rightly argues that the Kurds are a rare pro-Western, largely secular and moderate people in the Middle East have their unique culture and language.
The Kurds number more than 30 million people living in adjacent portions of four countries: Iraq, Iran, Turkey and Syria.
In the interview above, Rudaw’s Namo Abdulla talks to Mr. Mansfield about his book and the future of the Kurds as they are currently in war against the Islamic State (or Isis) in both Iraq and Syria.
The book, published in 2014, is available for purchase on Amazon.
